We are going back to the moon to stay and to prepare for Mars.  Some of our projects this year are lunar based.

Use the Google Map of the International Space Station to help you as you design your projects to see how things are set up in space station.  This will be a very helpful tool during your project.  (Notice there are HUNCH designed items with patches on many of the items on the space station!)

Note from Glenn Johnson regarding beginning of school year:
Hello Mentors and Teachers,
The school year is approaching whether we are ready or not.  I expect many of you are feeling confused about how your class will be conducted through the year if students are in and out of the class room.  We at HUNCH are also trying to work through these problems.  I won’t pretend we have solutions but maybe if we work together we can come up with something that works for you.  Please share as you find things that work for you.

I expect that all of you are trying to figure out what kind of things you can and can’t do this year with HUNCH.  Just know that we will try to do our best to offer you options if you want to have some kind of connection with HUNCH this year.   If you decide that you are unable to do HUNCH this year, know that you can come back when you and your class are ready.   I will place the Design and Prototype projects onto the website as soon as we are able.  Some of you may decide to your whole class do one project and everyone does different parts or maybe your students can work in small teams on their chosen project somehow.  You may find it helpful to have your students use the attached Student Template to work on their project.  You may alter it in any fashion that makes it better for you and your students.  The idea is to be able to organize and share their thoughts with each other and with you.  Hopefully it will give you something easier to grade.

I probably will not be able to show up to anyone’s classes.   I am skeptical that anyone will be able to have a face to face Design Review during the year.  I am expecting to spend a lot of time doing some kind of virtual internet meetings throughout the year.  NASA is not letting us host Zoom meetings because of the security problems that came up last spring however I am able to be a guest or a user on Zoom meetings.  NASA uses Microsoft Teams but I am sure I will be able to use Google Meet and other web based teleconferences as long as I am invited and not hosting.
